  • Masonic Court was sold to new owners in December 2025 and now operates under the Eastgrove name. While the brand has changed, the commitment to quality care remains the same. The new ownership brings a strong background in operating high-quality aged care facilities, along with a clear focus on continual improvement to ensure Eastgrove continues to provide a warm, safe, and supportive environment for residents and their families.

General Questions

Care

  • Eastgrove provides a spectrum of care, from independent living villas to rest home and hospital care. As your needs evolve, we’re prepared to support you with the right care, right here in our community.

  • To make everyday life easier, we offer an array of support services to rest home residents including physiotherapy, podiatry, hairdressing, on-site laundry and communal lounges with entertainment options. Each service is tailored to enhance comfort and wellbeing.

  • Caregivers are on duty 24 hours a day in the rest home and hospital, with local medical practitioners on call for any needs outside of hours. All rest home rooms feature strategically placed call bell systems monitored around the clock to ensure residents can access assistance whenever required.

  • Rest home and hospital residents have access to experienced medical practitioners who visit for routine check-ups and ongoing care. Every six months, we meet with you and your family to review your care, discuss any concerns and plan strategies to support your health and wellbeing.

  • We use a comprehensive medication management system to ensure your prescriptions are handled safely. You won’t need to worry about collecting or administering medicines—our team will take care of it for you.

  • Yes. As part of our community, you will have priority access to the care facilities offered by Eastgrove. For couples this is especially comforting, knowing that you can remain living within close proximity if your personal needs change.

Financials

  • Costs vary depending on the type of care and accommodation. We offer a range of options, from simple rooms to premium suites. You may be eligible for partial or fully subsidised care if you meet relevant criteria. Our team is happy to discuss your financial situation and help you explore funding options.

  • To determine eligibility, a local needs assessor will review your care needs and arrange for a means test with Work and Income New Zealand. If you qualify, partial or full support may be available to assist with costs.

  • Yes, residents are responsible for insuring their personal possessions. We recommend arranging suitable insurance for peace of mind.

  • Our independent villas and units do not fall within the scope of government funding. For specific pricing information, please contact our team and we’ll be happy to assist.

  • We support residents to maintain a small personal fund to cover small incidental expenses such as haircuts, snacks and personal items.

Activities

  • Eastgrove offers a vibrant activity program tailored to individual interests, including arts and crafts, gardening, reading and social outings. We welcome family participation in planned events, fostering community.

  • Yes. We support residents of all faiths and provide access to various spiritual and religious services to suit individual beliefs.

  • Residents enjoy the convenience of an on-site hairdresser offering a range of services from trims to colours. Additional costs apply.

  • Not at all. Residents are free to join as many activities as they like or simply enjoy peaceful relaxation in our welcoming surroundings. Your comfort and preferences are always our priority.
